Autumn sun

What a gorgeous day! It has been getting colder and colder, here near Canberra, especially in the late evening and mornings. Today was sunny and warm though, I got loads of washing done and dried on the line, mowed the lawn and tidied up the garden. I also packed away my summer clothes (hardly wore some of them as it was so mild), except for the clothes I will take to Vietnam. My winter clothes are unpacked and ready to go - hello boots and skirts! I have two large bags for the charity bin - I love that feeling, a good clean out!

Baking

This was the scene a couple of Sunday mornings ago - banana bread. Yum! Tomorrow we are making caramel slice. Not exactly healthy I know but we don't do it regularly.

Tomatoes from the garden

Tomatoes from the garden - yum!

These are from my garden too - a Christmas 2009 gift plant. Flourishing without any tending or watering (perfect).

Unidentified flowers

Any idea what these are? A friend bought the plants for me, they flowered for months then died. I pulled them up and just recently more plants have sprung up - they must self seed. Pretty!

coordinated cats

and last but not least, my lovely cats.

  1. They are a wild peony rose - not a true rise at all - and are now being cultivated by flower growers. They 'self-seeed' like those red poppies we get in November/December.

Yes! Weather today was delightful - I even had a 'sun-nap' this afternoon, a real treat. The nights are getting cooler and moister. ANZAC Day is a few weeks away and that always signals the time for the early frosts.

  2. Wasn't it a beautiful day? We went out to grazing for lunch and then gardened in the late afternoon. Perfect way to spend it. I like your way too! (I'm autumn cleaning tomorrow)

  3. Hello you! What a great bunch of photos. And a wonderful weekend by the looks.

It gets bloody freezing in Canberra! I hope those cats keep your toes warm at night.

  4. Yes - I remember those sparkling Canberra Autumn days. Just beautiful - Canberra's best season. Those flowers look like Cosmos to me...

I'd love it if you'd say 'Hello Jo'.
