We have had so much rain over the past week. No sunny or warm days for ages. We have even been lighting our open fire in the evenings. It is great for the garden, especially since S put down rolls of turf out the front where we just had mud before. Everything is blooming and growing but it'd be nice to have some sunshine to enjoy it in. Shouldn't grumble really, the rain should see the garden through while we are away over Christmas. Speaking of which, the cats and I are flying to Canberra, so I hope that all goes OK.
Had a street party on Sunday, not our street, but one nearby, closed off traffic and everyone gathered for food, basketball and a few drinks. Nice to meet people and great to see kids take over the road with scooters and bikes. Just like when I was growing up in the cul de sac. This is such a nice area to live in - friendly and quiet. Apart from that I have had a law librarian function, my work party (boat cruise) is on this week and we had an invite from our neighbour for a street get together too. This is about the most social I ever get.
Looking forward to getting away and having a break from work for two weeks....

That time of the year again..... This year I have finally managed to make all of my cards myself, using materials I already had at home (apart from some envelopes)! They don't look too bad either. Overseas ones are going in the post tomorrow and local ones next week. Hopefully I can make some of my Christmas gifts too. Aprons and cushions for everyone!!
