I finally saw the floor plans for the new library this week. Unfortunately the Director of Information Services wasn't consulted during the process because it is a new architect/interior designer designed building. So, not sure what to expect for shelving, storage etc. It looks like the layout isn't very user friendly and the library staff are hidden away in a corner again, but I am sure it will be pretty and new :-) Looks like the move may be October/November now. Lots to do before then, measuring current shelf space, weeding, tidying up around the workstations etc. Our recruitment process appears to have gone well and we should be getting new staff soon. Woo hoo!
It is getting chilly here now, especially in the evenings. Found the pilot light for my gas central heating on the weekend so it is a relief that works. I have just sprayed my paspalem weeds so hopefully they'll all die. I am sure I'll be left with no lawn though and will have to plant seed and start again.

Autumn
Well, it has started to cool down now, with mornings and evenings verging on cold. I am looking forward to being able to wear a coat, hat, scarf and gloves. I am sure the novelty will wear off once I have exerienced a couple of minus 8 mornings. Today I am going to the Open Day at the War Memorial, the research centre will be open to the public and they are having a few author talks.
I have once again re-arranged the furniture in my house, resulting in lots of items to sell on e-bay. I put a few of my collection of art nouveau books on last night as I have decided I don't want to collect them after all. It is tempting to go for it and sell a lot of stuff and start again but it is time consuming adding things to the site.
Library land is good - hoping to move to our new building mid-year so I am trying to prepare for that, weeding, sorting through donations, cleaning up records and the physical library, discarding old typewriters, copious numbers of bulldog clips etc etc.... The new building and 'showcase library' sound very exciting so we'll wait and see if they remembered to give us shelves, a return box and display stands :-)
